Here are some details of how to find help and advice about flooding in the UK and Ireland, our flood defence packages could help your fight against flooding.

England and Wales

Flood information, England and Wales
Call the Floodline on 0845 988 1188 for advice on flooding in England and Wales. The Environment Agency (EA) is responsible for flood warnings in England & Wales (link to its site from image on the left). The EA uses a four category system for designating the flood risk in each area:
  • Flood Watch: Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected. Be aware and be prepared. Watch water levels.
  • Flood Warning: Flooding of homes and businesses is expected. Act now.
  • Severe Flood Warning: Severe flooding is expected. There is extreme danger to life and property. Act now.
  • All Clear: Flood Watches or Warnings are no longer in force for this area.

Scotland

Call the Floodline on 0845 988 1188 for advice on flooding in Scotland. The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is responsible for flood warnings in Scotland (link to its site from image on the left) and uses the same categorizations and helpline number as England.

Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland Flood Helpline Details
The Nothern Ireland Rivers agency is the agency responsible for flooding. There is no one direct number but there are separate numbers for each county depending on whether the flood risk is river or sea or domestic (link to its site from image on the left).

Republic of Ireland

In Ireland The Office of Public Works (OPW), not the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is responsible for flood warnings (link to its site from image on the left).
